At Lonestar Goldens, we have over 13 years experience breeding, raising, training, and hunting with the highest quality, AKC-registered Golden Retrievers. Our goldens come from some of the US’s best kennels in the states of Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. They are, first and foremost, hunting/working dogs—that is what they are trained for. They spend an average of 90 days in the field per year hunting pheasant, waterfowl, dove, and quail.

Our goldens are high energy dogs that thrive in an active, stimulating environment. In fact, one of our dogs named Danin works as an avalanche rescue dog at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico.  He has been featured on the Good Morning America show and in The Taos News.

Our dogs are easy to train and have an innate desire to please their owners. They love to hunt, but Lonestar Goldens make great test, frisbee, or companion dogs for the entire family, kids included. The dogs at our kennel interact with the Butler kids from the first moments after their birth.

Our mission is to breed the best dog possible for owners who want an active and intelligent dog. While our goldens demand mental and physical challenges, and this may not be the best situation for all potential owners,  the rewards of companionship with our dogs are boundless for the right owner.
